Welcome

Our Mission

PineMeadow Equine Trust Stables is a not for profit organization formed in April 2009 to take care of abandoned, abused and neglected horses and ponies in Southwest Florida.

There are always a number of unscrupulous horse owners who often abuse, neglect, under feed and even starve their animals. In difficult economic times, even caring owners often have to choose between feeding their horses and feeding their children.

While much electronic and print media focus on the plight of dogs and cats, horses along with other large animals can be forgotten. While government run or funded organizations do a remarkable job of caring for small animals, they do not have the facilities or staffing required for horses, so this endeavour is left to the kindness of private citizens. The problem is rapidly approaching crisis stage here in Florida and across the USA.

Our goal here at PineMeadow Equine Trust Stables, Inc (P.E.T.S.) is to utilize our resources along with the generosity of local businesses and community at large to take in as many of these unfortunate horses and ponies, give them a safe, caring environment where they can be properly fed, rehabilitated and eventually adopted to a loving home. We will also attempt at every opportunity to raise public awareness of the enormity of the problem and to bring the light of media exposure to those who abuse, starve and otherwise exploit these animals.

ACT NOW - if you know of a horse or pony in distress please contact us on 239-947-1204 or by mail to PineMeadowTrust@aol.com
